Every post and guide on Rorz Cards is reviewed, edited and approved by Rory “Rorz” Hansen before it’s published, whoever wrote it. Rory runs the site. His name is on every post, either as the author or as the editor of a guest post.

Who writes here

Rory writes most posts. Guest authors (Nate Lake, Ibreak Cards and Tyler Holzhammer so far) write from their own experience as collectors and sellers, and their name is on their posts. More about Rory and the site.

How we source facts

  • Card values are recorded sales, each linked to the auction or sales record, with the date we checked them. We don’t publish a value we can’t trace to a sale. Some posts from 2024 were written before this rule; they show their publish date, and we’re updating them, most-read first.
  • Grading fees and turnaround times come from each grading company’s own pricing page. Our card grading prices page shows the date they were checked and a log of every change.
  • Other facts, such as grading standards, release details and population counts, link to the primary source: the grading company, the card maker or the marketplace itself.
  • Experience or research. When a post is based on something we did ourselves, such as grading cards, selling them or going to a show, it says so. When it’s research, it says that instead, for example “we haven’t tested this ourselves”.

The card shop directory and show calendar

Rory compiles and checks the card shop directory from each shop’s own website, social pages and map listing. It’s desk research, not a set of reviews: we haven’t visited every shop. Each area page says when its shops were last checked, and listings are free.

For the card show calendar, a weekly check reads each organizer’s own page. Dates the organizer publishes in a standard machine-readable format are added automatically. Dates found only in the page text, cancellations and new shows are checked by hand before they appear.

Dates

Every post shows the date it was published. When we change what a post says, it also shows the date it was updated. We don’t change that date for typo fixes or small wording edits.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, tell us through the Contact page and say which page it’s on. Rory reads every message. When we get a fact wrong, we fix it on the page. If the mistake could have changed what you did, such as a wrong price, fee or date, we add a short note to the page saying what we changed and when.

Shop owners can use the same page to correct their listing or ask to be added.
